This is an e-mail proposal as created by myself in an attempt to get a Freedom Toaster in Bloemfontein (Mangaung)

To Whom it may concern,

Freedom Toaster Project - The Shuttleworth Foundation

Proposal:

To install a "Freedom Toaster" at the Bloemfontein Public
Library situated at Charles Street Bloemfontein.

What is a "Freedom Toaster"?

It is a purpose buit computer system, for the distribution
of software, ie. Linux, FreeBSD, Open Office etc. The system
is housed in a single floor standing case, containing a touch
screen and 3x CD-Writers, having a hieght of 2m, width of 1m
and breadth ot 30cm.

The appearance and physical dimensions of the "Freedom Toaster"
unit are displayed in the attached file - toaster.pdf,
which can be viewed useing Acrobat Reader.

The unit will be supplied and mantained by The Shuttleworth
Foundation, and I will visit it on a weekly basis on behalf
of The Shuttleworth Foundation, to determine that it is
functioning correctly and to download usage statistics,
system logs etc.

What is required;

Approxamitely 1 square meter of floor space, and a power
point, from which to operate the Freedom Toaster.

Motivation;

Both The Shuttleworth Foundation, and myself believe that,
the Bloemfontein Public Library is a suitable venue, too
which the public has free access, for such a project, and
that it will help draw people to the Public library who
would not previously have had reason to vist it.

It is my sincere hope that this proposal will find favour,
and thus enable people who do not have, and cannot afford
Internet access to obtain current versions of the free
software that will be made available on The Freedom Toaster
for the cost of the required number of CD-Writable discs,
the package they wish to write, requires.
